Los Osos needed 2 overtime periods and PK’s in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the CIF Division 2 playoffs on Wednesday night.

Karla Sandoval’s goal to open 2nd half put Osos up 1-0. Cypress answered right back with a goal of their own to tie the score. The scored stayed 1-1 through the end of regulation and 2 overtime periods, which sent the game to be decided by PK’s.

Los Osos took a quick 2-0 lead from PK’s by Steph Flores and Natalie Kamper. Savanna Arruda continued her dominating postseason by blocking the first two PK attempts from Cypress.

Both teams traded successful PK’s on their third attempts. Los Osos got a goal from Karla Sandoval.

Up 3-1, Los Osos needed only 1 successful PK in their last 2 attempts to secure the victory. Haley Jenson placed the ball in the upper left corner of the net and the celebration was on.

The Grizzlies will continue their CIF postseason with a game at home on Saturday against Tesoro. Time of the match is TBA.

The Lady Grizzlies pulled out a highly competitive Division 2 first round win against Downey on Saturday afternoon. Goals by Kayla Winebarger and Adi Juarez and clutch goalkeeping by Savanna Arruda secured the Osos win, 2-1. Arruda saved the day by denying a potential game tying PK by Downey with hardly any time left on the clock.

The Grizzlies will be at home on Wednesday at 5 PM for their second round CIF playoff game against Cypress High School.

Los Osos Girl’s Soccer celebrated Senior Day by honoring their 8 graduating Seniors Thursday night.

Los Osos sent their Seniors out with a bang for their Baseline League regular season finale at the Stadium.

Frosh won 1-0
JV won 2-1
Varsity won 1-0

That wraps up the regular season for Frosh and JV.

Varsity will now wait to see who they will play in the first round of CIF playoffs.

Please come out and support all 3 teams as they finish Baseline League action against Chino Hills on Thursday. Also, we will be celebrating our Seniors as they play their last regular season game as Grizzlies.
